Dimitar Ivanov's particular contribution to GCA is in matters relating to CEE policy, politics, economics and financial service industry regional relationships. He is a former senior strategic advisor to Bank Austria, former economic advisor to the President of Republic of Bulgaria (2002-2007) and member of the President's International Economic Advisory Board. He is a macroeconomist and expert in financial and debt restructuring, M & A, economic crises and public sector reforms with 36 years experience. He is a recognized international investment strategist; an expert on emerging markets and consultant on strategic investment. Dr. Ivanov has been university professor since qualifying as economist in 1972. He has taught in Paris, Moscow, Sofia, Tokyo, Pittsburgh, and Warwick, Sheffield and London in the UK. He is published widely in the field of international economics and finance, public sector restructuring, restructuring of the emerging market economies, economic crises and cycles, foreign investment climate, and competitiveness and Eastern European reforms. Dr. Ivanov received his Ph.D. in Economics and attended the senior doctoral program at the prestigious Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris under personal guidance of Professor Raymond Barre, former Finance Minister of France. Dr. Ivanov speaks fluent English, French, Russian, Bulgarian, and Serb-Croat. Professor Ivanov has lived in London since 1991.
