Mauro Meinberg is a partner of MPPC Consultoria e Participacoes Ltda., an independent M&A and Financial Advisory firm based in Sao Paulo. He is a senior investment banker with more than 20 years of experience in Capital Markets (both Equity and Debt), Mergers & Acquisitions, Corporate Finance Advisory, Project Finance, Structured Finance and Trade Finance. Prior to that, Mauro was responsible for the investment banking activities of Banif Financial Group in Brazil. With Total Assets in excess of R $800 million and a shareholders’ equity of R $140million (not including the Asset under Management of approximately BRL 800mn), the activities encompassed BANIF Banco de Investimento (Brasil) S.A. (an investment bank), BANIF Gestao de Ativos S.A. (the asset management company), BANIF Corretora de Cambio e Valores S.A. (Brazil’s #2 online brokerage house), and BANIF Private Equity S.A. He was also executive board member of the BANIF Banco de Investimento (Brasil) S.A. and non-executive board member of BANIF Banco de Investimento S.A. in Portugal and of Lindencorp Desenvolvimento Imobiliario S.A., one of the leading real estate developers in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Before leading Banif Investment Bank in Brazil, Mauro was a senior banker at Deutsche Bank Brazil, heading Equity Capital Markets in the country from 2006 through 2008, executing the first IPO led by Deutsche Bank in Brazil and the Follow-on Equity Offering for Banco do Brasil. Also at Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for the coverage of corporate clients for the main business unit at Deutsche Bank Brazil, called Global Markets. Global Markets in Brazil focus on the following key products: derivatives and other risk management instruments, structured financing, special projects, debt capital markets, equity capital markets (joint coverage with ECM banker), equity derivatives, distress assets, asset-backed lending, etc. Before that, he was a senior banker with coverage responsibility over the following industries: Metals & Mining (incl. Steel), Logistics & Transportation, Utilities and Financial Institutions. During this period, he led the origination and execution of the advisory mandate to Arcelor for the restructuring of its holdings in Brazilian steelmakers and creation of Arcelor Brasil S.A., among others. He has also worked at GE Capital South America as an associate in Business Development and at ING Barings, Chase, and Citibank in credit and risk management. Mauro received an MBA (1998) from Columbia Business School, New York, awarded with Dean’s Honors List and a member of Beta Gamma Sigma honor society. He is an undergraduate of EAESP, Fundacao Getulio Vargas. Mauro resides In Sao Paulo, Brazil.
